In Nepal, trial exams for cars, bikes, and scooters involve several key steps. Eligible candidates must first pass a theory test administered by the Department of Transport Management (DoTM), assessing their knowledge of traffic rules, road signs, and safe driving practices. Following this, candidates undergo a practical trial exam where they demonstrate driving or riding skills under the supervision of an authorized examiner. This includes maneuvers like parking, lane changing, and obeying traffic signals. Vehicles used must meet legal standards and be in proper condition. Examiners evaluate candidates on their ability to handle vehicles safely, follow traffic laws, and demonstrate control and confidence. Feedback is provided post-exam, with successful candidates proceeding to obtain their permanent license. Those who don’t pass can reapply after a waiting period. Safety remains a top priority throughout, ensuring candidates understand and adhere to safe driving practices for themselves and others on the road.
